A Touch of History
On a Thursday evening in 1977, three Los Angeles rabbis filled boxes with food for the approaching Shabbat and delivered them discreetly to several Jewish families who were having difficulty making ends meet.
This mitzvah was the birth of Touch of Kindness, a non-profit organization, that today provides nearly 1,000 Jewish individuals in Greater Los Angeles with kosher food, financial assistance, and other services needed to help people in their time of need.
What began with three individuals concerned with the hardships of their friends and neighbors has grown into an organization of volunteers dedicated to helping people in their community.
Thanks to the thousands of you who have selflessly supported a Touch of Kindness, we’ve grown into an impressive organization with a range of services and will continue to grow with your support into the future.
